A solar Flat-Plate collector is also named solar thermal collector. A collector is a device for capturing solar radiation and collecting heat by absorbing sunlight. A flat-plate solar collector consists of a radiation-absorbing flat plate beneath one or more transparent covers, tubes attached to the plate to transport the circulating fluid and back and edge insulation to reduce heat loss. Water or an anti-freeze fluid circulates through the collector by a pump or by natural convection to remove the absorbed heat. This technology is mainly used in residential buildings where the demand for hot water has a large impact on energy bills.
